In Hong Kong, there's a big sport issue in Sports and Recreation Management that Hong Kong do not have enough high quality person to do the sports and recreation mangement. Some sports club or other recreation centre need to hire some person who not studying sports and recreation management and only study in management or some low quality person. That lead to lack of talent in recreation management but this issue will be solve very soon. Our subject was actually going to training out some talent person to become some profression in recreation management. And we are going to rock and roll in sports recreation management!
To have a successful sports and recreation management, the first thing that you will need to know are media, communication and public relation in sports. So that the following weeks, I will mainly focus in these three parts. I will try to upload at least 1 article per week. And I will use some of my real story to tell you more about sports and recration management to let articles become more interesting.

On 6th November, six of THEi student who studying recreation management join a large event called The Bloomberg Square Mile Relay - Hong Kong. This event was hold in Central. Bloomberg Square Mile Relay Run had held in London and Singapore for 8 years and this was the first time held in Hong Kong. This was the first time we work as assistants in a large event and know more about how a event actual run. And I think this the most successful event I've ever joint.
In the morning of 5th November, we have a briefing about the run down and setting of the event. And the venue layout started at the afternoon and I went there at night to help for the set up section. The helping of set up section was useful to help me work more fluent in the event on the next day. On 6th November, my main work duty was to assist with stage and overage program management to let the event run fluently. Although learn many knowledge in the school, there's still many things that I've never handle. You need to have those kind of experience so that you will know how to handle. Accumulate experiences were really important to the future career.

The Social Network is a movie that talking about how Facebook have been created. Mark Zuckerberg was a Harvard student goot at programing. One day Brothers
Winklevoss ask Mark to help to make a Harvard Connection and Mark agree. Later Mark use this idea to crate a website call The Facebook. And this website become very famous and The Brothers Winklevoss think Mark steal their idea and sue him. And later on, Mark's partner Eduardo Saverin (The Chief financial officer and business manager of Facebook) also sue Mark as Mark dilute his stakehold.
This were the sum up of this movie but what I want to talk today is one of the character in this movie called Sean Parker. Sean Parker is the founder of Snaper which is a music-focused online sevices. Sean felt interested to Facebook and try to meet Mark and become one of Facebook's partner. And his communication skills and public relation help him to get the trust of Mark. And final he became one of the co-founders. Sean have a lot of experience on social interaction. And those experience let him have a good public relation and great communication skills. And the fact proof that these element can help him to help Mark to manage Facebook very well. Although this not related to and sports management, that's the common element of a successful management.

26th October, 2014 is the last day of the Hong Kong Beach Festival 2014 and the locaton was Sha Tsui Road Playground in Tsuen Wan. On that day, there were total 3 activities which were Beach Volleyball Final Competition, Sand Sculpting and Game Both. Our THEi student's main job duty were to take care about those children and elderly who weill join the Sand Scuipting and Game Both.
We have total 12 student helper and 6 of us include me need to arrived there at 10am to set up some eqiipment for the Game Both. One of our student helper forget he need to come at 10am and that might increase our workload. Luckly, not much thing need to set up in the morning section. And actually we set up those equipments and we have some time to sit down and chat. I think that's a great example of time management. The orgainizer let us come earler and give us a longer time to do some set up. If there's some unecpect work need to do, we also can help to make sure the event run fluently. There's a really good time management.

On 13th October,2014, this was the second day of the Hong Kong Beach Festival 2014. On this day, basiclly all thing and event were finished fluently. On the second day,we did not need to wait for any guest so that we did not need to delay our timetable. Also all children attend on this day's event were primary student lead by their teacher. So that children follow our order and let the event run fluently.
As the food problem occur in the first day, the organizer cancel the lunch buffet for children and parents and change it to each table got a set of food. This solve the problem of children and parent take too much food and make sure every people can have their lunch. When we think the problem had been solve, another problem occured. Some parents and children complain that the food were not enough. Lucky, we got some extra food for them. And the problem had been solved.
One more problem occured in that day. We found that some voluteers go to get the free ice cream provided by the sponsor and did not help us a lot, it let use have a high workload at that period. Although I also go to get the ice cream, I go to get it when my whole day duties finished.

On 12th October,2014, the Hong Kong Beach Festival 2014 start to begin. Our recreation management students became volunteer and need to join the Hong Kong Festival on either 12, 13 or 26 October. And I try to join both three day. Our duty on 12th October were to lead some kids to join different activities provided by Hong Kong Beach Festival. This day was the first day of Hong Kong Beach Festival 2014 and there's a opening ceremony.
There's a big problem in the opeing ceremory that one of the guest came late for more that 30mins but we still need to wait him for the opening. And the kids need to wait the opening ceremony before enjoy their event but there did not have any back up plan. And kids started to impatient. Then our student volunteers startedt to let them sit on some shadow area and let them can play sand first. After the opening ceremony, we started to lead kids to have their acitivites and the process quite smooth.
After the morning section, we have a buffet lunch provided to kids and their parents. And there's two problem occured that the food were not enough to provide to all kids and parents and full of dust around. The organizer did not expect the supply of food less than the demand of food. And the place we having the lunch were an new building and the decoration were not complete. We need to take the kids and parent who did not have their lunch yet to go down stair to visit the new building and play around first. After the new food arrived, we cance the buffet and gave each set of food to each kids and students.

On that day at 7:30am, we had a briefing about the run down of the whole event. At 8am, we started to help participants to check in and assigned some harbour race supplies to them before the harbour race started. At 9:30am, we sent the participants to Sha Lan Beach(the start point of the Harbour Race). About 12pm, participants started to arrive the finish point and we started to give them some towels and certificates. And the event finished at about 1pm.

On 27th September, 2014, Occupy Central with Love and Peace official started. Hong Kong people started to go to Central Government Offices and Tim Mei Avenue. When there were more and more Hong Kong people stay in Admiralty and Central, Hong Kong police started to attack them. Hong Kong people very peaceful and only sit around to express their demand on universal suffrage but the police used pepper spray and tear gas to disperse them on 28th September, 2014. On 28th September, 2014, I felt very angry. I saw police using weapon to attrack our unarmed Hong Kong resident on TV. (Sure not the "CC"TVB). At the past, I were not really agree with OCLP. After 28th Sept, this event were not OCLP any more, it become "The Umbrella Revolution遮打/雨傘運動" and I began to join it mostly every day. In Contonese, 遮 meant umbrella. When police usef weapon to attrack poeple, they used the umbrella to protect themselves. Bring umbrella to Central and Admiralty mostly became a must. 打 in Contonese meant fight. That mean we are fighting with the right of universal suffrage and fighting with the Government. Mostly there were four place to get on the Umbrella Revolution which were Admiralty, Central, Causeway Bay and Mong Kok. I had been to all place exclude Mong Kok. Every day, I can saw different people from different place support the Umbrella Revolution. In the morning, some people help to classified those rublish that can be recycle and transported all rublish to a place that can collected rublish by Food and Environmental Hygiene Department(FEHD) as FEHD reject to collect rublish in different venue of Umbrella Revolution. Also in every time, many people gave us foods drinks and first-aid suppiles. I had never seen that Hong Kong people were so unity to protect our right of universal suffeage, our city. Wherever police used violence to disperse, weather too hot or heavily rain, Hong Kong people still keep joining this Umbrella Revolution until now to protect our basic right and express our demand on universal suffeage!
